Boulder County's Revised Weed Management Plan

Boulder County's Parks & Open Space (POS) Weed management and herbicide use policy is undergoing its first comprehensive update since 2004. Now is the moment for your voice to be heard directly by County Commissioners and the Parks & Open Space Advisory Board.

In February 2023, a revelation shook many Boulder County residents — the extensive use of pesticides, specifically herbicides, on our Open Space lands. This discovery prompted concerned community members to express their opinions through emails to County Commissioners and impassioned in-person testimonies at Commissioners' Town Hall events. Their collective concern led to a temporary moratorium on aerial spraying of herbicides, providing a window for the review of the County's Weed Management Plan.
